We have been home for 3 full days now. For two of those days we had family here helping and today it was just the four of us....and we survived! We got home Friday afternoon and Saturday morning we awoke to a surprise blanket of snow (we had heard that it might and I just blew it off). Well, look below. You can see it snowed here!
Big Brother Ben has been been coping with the new addition well. He loves to point to Connor and say "baby" and when Connor is sleeping he says "shhhhh" and smashes his finger to his lips. And instead of "regressing" so far he has surprised us with new words: like "Amen," "animal," "star", and "kitty cat." Yay Ben! Otherwise as you can see in the picture below he has not had a chance to interact much with Connor because we keep him down in the basement without shoes:
Just kidding. He thought it would be fun to crush up his cookie and stomp on it while in the chair and then to disobey is and put his feet on the table :) As far as his interaction with Connor goes, he likes to kiss him and is very enthusiastic when he touches him. He paws at him with a curiosity and eagerness in one moment, and in the next, just wants to kive him a kiss.
And for Connor, he sleeps! Unlike his brother Ben was. However, he is up more at night than in the day, but we not going to complain. He is a tad bit jaundced, we have and appointment tomorrow to check on that. Ben Jr. has nicknamed Connor "Rocket." Since his circumcision, he has peed through his diaper, clothes and blanket every night at least three times a night and on several occasions when we have gone to change him, he has fired his weapons on full blast. No one is safe and we have taken some serious casualties. So far he has taken out an eye, face, both of his dads hands and several blankets that are there to keep him warm and instead end up pee soaked, but I guess we have all had some of those nights.
This adjustment period is one we are treasuring. Little moments over the last few days with both boys continue to facinate us with how fast time goes by. We cherish these moments because as everyone keeps reminding us...they grow up so fast. Family is everything and we are blessed to have Ben and Connor in our lives.
Good night and Merry Chirstmas!
