Let me tall you 'bout Ben's birthday party:
He wakes up the night of his party around 1:15 in the am screaming. Ummm and his temp was 105.4! Wow, O.K. Great, now what?? He still continued to run a temp through the night so I ran him by the ED and the doctor did us a quick favor and check him over. He thought it it could possibly be his throat and gave him an antibiotic. Booter was happy and playful in the early afternoon (guess he was just excited about the party) but after his second nap it was all down hill from there. He woke up with another temp of 105.3 and was not in the happiest of spirits. We honestly would have cancelled the party if it was not so late into the day. Poor guy just was not himself.
The party turned out great thanks to Susan and Ben and my mom and all of Ben's friends that came! The three grandparents pretty much did all of the food because my Ben was out of town and was not going to be back until about one hour before the party and because I had to go here and there for the sick birthday boy. I didn't even have time to make the cake : ( Susan had to do it (thankfully!-mine would not have been half as good). We also couldn't have asked for better weather. The sad part about the day was I had to call Daniel's parents "Ben's only friend/brother and sister in-law and baby" and tell them about Ben's fever and let them decide if they wanted Daniel to be exposed to whatever Ben had. So we didn't get to see them or Ben's great grandparents because they were going to ride together. And they were missed! (Katie and Stuart if you are reading this-we understand...and Ben is still super mysteriously ill with crazy fevers, so good decision!). We just wish we could have let everyone else know.
We promise to have the pictures up by Thursday night! (I am at work so I cannot post them and I work tomorrow too).
Thank you to everyone for coming and for all of the cool gifts Ben got. As sick as he is he is still making an effort to play. It is so pitiful to watch.
Word update:
Ben was sitting around the corner from me yesterday and I rolled a ball into his view and when he saw it he said BALL!!! It was so exciting. So it is registering...sometimes I swear it isn't because he is to darn busy to sit still and listen.
